Campus Activities
One of the many features that attract students to the University of Puget Sound is the abundance of student activities on campus – students often enroll because our unique environment encourages initiative and expression inside and outside the classroom.
For example, the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound (ASUPS) brings popular entertainment groups to campus, funds over 35 clubs and student groups, and manages special events. Athletics at Puget Sound offers 23 varsity sports and numerous intramural activities. The Division of Student Affairs coordinates many student activities and services on campus, including our award-winning and highly regarded Orientation program, variety of housing options, and student leadership.
Students also stay involved with programs through the Community Involvement and Action Center, through which more than 75 percent of Puget Sound students volunteer their time for the community. If you are interested in spiritual life on campus, look into the Office of Spirituality, Service, and Social Justice, or check out the Student Diversity Center to find out more about programs that honor the wide range of students' ethnicities, races, genders, religions, and sexual orientation.
You can also participate in campus life informally – such as taking a professor to lunch (the university picks up the tab) or sharing your views with President Ron Thomas at one of the fireside dinners he and his wife regularly host at their home.
