Outside ScholarshipsScholarships received from your high school or local community are a great way to help finance your college education. Be sure Student Financial Services knows that you received these outside scholarships because all scholarships must be included as part of your financial aid for the academic year. How to report outside scholarships You can use the Additional Financial Aid & Scholarships form to report outside scholarships you have been awarded. Where to send the scholarship check Please have scholarship checks made payable to the University of Puget Sound and include your name and UPSID#. Mail checks to: University of Puget Sound Student Financial Services 1500 North Warner #1039 Tacoma, WA 98416-1039
Changes to financial aid awards Your eligibility for need-based financial aid may change when you receive additional scholarships, depending on your level of demonstrated financial need and the amount of need-based financial aid you have been awarded. If your level of demonstrated financial need is being met with federal, state, or university need-based programs, this additional scholarship funding will result in your need-based financial aid being reduced. Reductions in need-based financial aid eligibility will occur in the following order: Stafford Loan (Subsidized) Perkins Loan Work-Study Puget Sound Grant programs
Puget Sound grant programs are university need-based awards and will be reduced in a financial aid package if the total amount of all scholarships combined with the grant assistance exceeds your level of demonstrated financial need. Verification of enrollment Many organizations require a student to provide verification of their enrollment before sending the scholarship funds. If you need Puget Sound to verify your enrollment, please send a copy of the letter that indicates the address in which the form is to be mailed to: Darcie Sak, Scholarship Manager Student Financial Services 1500 North Warner #1039 Tacoma, WA 98416-1039 Fax: 253.879.8508 |
