Freshmen
We welcome 675 freshmen each year who share a commitment to academic adventure and community participation while bringing diverse backgrounds and talents to our campus. Our admission process is selective; however, we are equally committed to enrolling students who will benefit from and contribute to life at Puget Sound. We look forward to reading your application.

Freshman Application Checklist
- Complete the Application for Freshman Admission including the personal essay (see essay tips). Submit the Puget Sound application online ($40 fee by credit card) or via download ($40 fee check only), or submit the Common Application ($40 fee, credit card or check), by the priority deadline. Those students requiring a fee waiver should submit the downloadable application or complete the Common Application online. Puget Sound does not require a supplement to the Common Application.
- SAT I and/or ACT scores. Scores are considered official if reported on the official high school transcript or received, in paper form, directly from a testing agency. We cannot accept ACT's Send Your Scores online service reports. Puget Sound’s SAT code is 4067 and the ACT code is 4450.
- Secondary School Report along with official transcripts from all high schools attended. Please make sure your transcript includes all completed courses and corresponding grades as well as classes currently in progress.
- Recommendation from a teacher who has taught you in an academic subject.
- If you would like to apply to the Business Leadership Program or the Honors Program, complete the supplemental application for the appropriate program.
- If you would like to audition for the School of Music, complete an audition application.
- Submit the Early Decision Agreement (for Early Decision I and II applicants only). You may download this form or use the form located in the Puget Sound application packet.
- If applicable, please complete the College Scholarship Service (CSS) Profile Form (Early Decision applicants only) and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadlines listed in the application. The FAFSA code for Puget Sound is 003797.
- International applicants must also submit the Supplemental Application for International Students.
