Transfer Students

Each year 100 undergraduate transfer students enroll at the University of Puget Sound. We look for academic excellence, but we also look for interesting people who can contribute to the life of the University. We review your entire college program, including the rigor of your courses, your grades, writing ability, and your extracurricular and community activities.

Transfer students may begin their academic work at the beginning of any semester. Applications received after the preferred deadlines will be accepted on a space-available basis. We will mail our admission decision as soon as possible after all necessary documents have been received. Transfer Application Checklist

Complete the Application for Transfer Admission including an essay or graded writing sample and submit your application online ($40 fee, credit card or check), or via download ($40 fee, check only, made out to the University of Puget Sound, referencing the student’s name) by the priority deadline. The application fee is not required if you have previously applied to the University of Puget Sound.
The Transfer College Clearance Form signifies honorable dismissal from your previously attended institution(s). Download or complete your portion of this form and give to your college advisor, registrar, or other administrator.
Official college transcripts from each college or university you have previously attended should be sent directly to the University of Puget Sound. Puget Sound requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. (The average grade point for entering transfers is 3.35.)
High school transcripts and results of either the SAT or ACT must also be submitted if you have completed less than one year of college at the time of application or if you were enrolled in college-level courses while in high school.
