Community Music PrivilegesLibrary Card (University ID)- Community Music patrons are faculty, students, and community members who teach music. Community music instructors receive a community music card. The library honors this as a library card.
- Cost: No cost.
- Expiration Date: The end of participation in the Community Music program. Determined by the Community Music Program Coordinator.
Borrowers' Responsibility- The library requires that patrons present valid identification at each checkout and pick up transaction.
- Patrons are responsible to inform Access Services of changes in mailing addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses to facilitate receiving notices on incoming interlibrary loan & Summit requests, overdue items, recalls and holds.
- Staff member should make sure that Human Resources also has your correct information.
- Patrons are responsible for materials checked out on their cards.
- Patrons are responsible for returning library materials by the due date/time indicated.
- Privileges are non-transferable.
Confidentiality of Records- The University of Puget Sound respects the privacy of all its students, faculty, staff and affiliated patrons regarding the use of its library. All library records relating to an individual patron's use of the library and its resources are considered confidential. Confidentiality extends to information sought or received, and materials consulted, borrowed or acquired and includes such records as circulation records, interlibrary loan records, reference interviews, database search records, Internet use history, and other personally identifiable records of the use of library materials, facilities and services.
- The library staff shall not release the name of a person to whom a book is charged, past circulation records (including interlibrary loan and course reserves) personal information contained in circulation patron records, or otherwise identify users of any library services, including users of computer terminals on the library premises.
- Library records may, however, be consulted and used by University of Puget Sound library staff in the course of conducting library operations, and may be disclosed pursuant to the requirements of Federal, state and local laws, including law enforcement subpoenas, court orders or search warrants.

Renewals, Returns, & RecallsRenewals Most items may be renewed. Note: You may not be eligible for renewals if: - the item is not a renewable item.

- the item has been recalled.
- you have exceeded the renewal limit for your patron type.
You may renew items in person, by telephone, or by viewing your "Circulation Record" in SIMON, the library catalog, from the library's home page. - If renewing in person, please have valid identification ready for the desk assistant.
- If renewing by telephone, please have the barcode from your library card ready to tell the desk assistant.

Returns - Return UPS items to the library. You may use the book drops which are located at the entrance of the library and at the Circulation desk in the library.
- Note: Please return equipment and other Tech Center materials to the Office of Information Services (OIS) Helpdesk on the ground floor of the library.
Recalls - Items are not subject to recall. Faculty may recall an item for reserve purposes only. If items are needed for research, try ordering via Summit or ordering via Interlibrary Loan.
