Self-expression takes myriad forms, and University of Puget Sound students develop their abilities through the study of many types of expression. Puget Sound blends study in traditional liberal arts disciplines (the arts, humanities, and natural and social sciences) with opportunities for discovery at the intersections of knowledge. We offer distinctive interdisciplinary programs in Honors; Asian Studies; International Political Economy; and Science, Technology and Society, just to name a few. Whether in the classroom or laboratory, on stage, or in the gallery, through academic internships or via projects in the greater community, you will find ample avenues for communicating your ideas and testing your theories. Select from over 1,200 courses in 40 major programs, research study summers, popular theme houses, language program houses, frequent campus lectures and seminars, and academic-residential programs. Puget Sound students are also eligible to be selected for membership in the honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Mortar Board.
Thanks to our larger size—we’re about twice the size of most liberal arts colleges—we can offer a broad array of studies, including an undergraduate program in Business and a conservatory-caliber School of Music. Your choices range from innovative programs such as the Asian Studies Program, Pacific Rim Study Travel Tour, Business Leadership Program, and Gender Studies Program, to more traditional studies such as humanities and health sciences, and graduate programs in Education, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy.
Our students also represent a diverse range of perspectives, with a majority of our student population from out of state and from other nations, guaranteeing lively debates, spirited discourse, and opportunities for self-discovery and growth.
