AthleticsIntercollegiate AthleticsThe Department of Intercollegiate Athletics offers a broad-based approach to athletics that allows students to select fields of endeavor from 23 intercollegiate sports. The university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA Division III), the Northwest Conference (NWC), and U.S. Rowing. This provides opportunities for athletes to represent Puget Sound on the regional and national levels. Information regarding athletic schedules, home events, tickets, special events, or other matters pertaining to your son or daughter’s participation in the athletic program may be obtained by calling the Athletics Department Office or checking the Athletics Department Web site. The staff is willing and eager to offer assistance with your questions or concerns. We invite you to be a Logger booster. Membership in the Logger Club is open to faculty and staff, parents, and friends of the university. We encourage your participation and your support at all Logger sports events. The athletic department provides live stats for a number of its home events. Go to the LIVE STATS link on the front page of the athletic web site. The Northwest Conference web site contains links to all the conference schools. All sports schedules are subject to change. Throughout the year, visit the Athletics Department Web site for up-to-date information. Intramural SportsThe Intramural Sports Program at Puget Sound is an important complement to the academic program. Through individual, dual, and team sports, students can participate in enjoyable physical activities, which maintain well-being, provide a resource for leadership development, and offer a way to refine skills and habits that lead to lifelong physical fitness and activity. The Intramural Program offers men’s, women’s, and coed activities in 18 different sports. The program is designed to serve all skill and experience levels and provides an opportunity for the student to play a favorite sport or just try something new. Sport offerings range from traditional flag football and basketball to special competitions, such as 3-point shootout or walleyball. The Intramural Program, located in the Memorial Fieldhouse, provides information on activities offered, schedules, registration, and rules and regulations governing participation. Intramurals are truly for everyone - encourage your son or daughter to get involved in the University of Puget Sound experience! |
