Christopher McKim, lyric baritone, received his BMus in vocal performance from Wichita State University, where he studied with Dr. Vernon Yenne, his MMus from Arizona State University, studying with Darleen Kliewer-Britton, and his PhD in vocal performance and pedagogy at the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied with Dr. Robert Harrison.  His recent directing credits include The Pirates of Penzance for CU Opera in the Summer, The Telephone for Central City Opera Outreach, and Opera Magic for Lyric Artists of the West. 

Also an active performer, McKim has enjoyed interpreting a wide variety of operatic and musical theatre roles including: Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, Ko Ko in The Mikado, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Tommy in Brigadoon, Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd, Curly in Oklahoma, and the villainous Florentino Ralston in the world premier of Sara McKinnon by Randall Shinn and Oscar and Pulitzer prize winner Mark Medoff.  He recently made his international debut at the Lyrique-en-mer festival in France singing the role of the narrator in Monteverdi's Combattimento Tancredi et Clorinda.  Professor McKim frequently performs in concert settings as a soloist in such works as the Brahms Requiem, Carmina Burana, and the Faure Requiem.  In Denver, Colorado, he has recorded with the Saint Martin's Chamber Choir and performed with the Central City Opera Outreach ensemble.
