With a repertoire of over 40 operatic roles, Bass-baritone Michael Delos has appeared with the New York City Opera, L'Opera de Monte Carlo, Chicago Opera Theater, Seattle Opera, Portland Opera, Hawaii Opera and Vancouver (B. C.) Opera among many others. Much in demand as a concert performer, Mr. Delos has sung with the Detroit Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Calgary Symphony as well as the Toyko Nihon and the Osaka Symphonies in Japan. He also has appeared as a featured soloist with the prestigious Carmel Bach Festival. During the course of his career, Mr. Delos has worked with such composers as Ned Rorem, Gian-Carlo Menoitti, Peter Hallock and Bern Herbolsheimer and taken part in several world premieres of contemporary American Song and Vocal Chamber compositions. Michael Delos received his BMus from University of Puget Sound and has served on the Puget Sound voice faculty since the Fall of 1997. Mr. Delos has been heard in numerous Jacobsen Recitals and as a performer with Tacoma Opera and Tacoma Symphony. "What a pleasure to contribute to the voice program at my alma mater and work with this fine voice faculty," says Mr. Delos. "The standard of instruction is at a high level, and it's a source of great satisfaction to watch students master the many skills necessary to become well-disciplined, successful performers." Mr. Delos also serves on the faculty of the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and is Bass soloist with Temple Beth Am in Seattle. He also is active in the recording industry, and his voice can be heard on the soundtracks of such movies as 'The Celestine Prophecy', 'Pirates of the Caribbean 3', and 'Ghostrider', in addition to video games -- most recently in 'Halo 3'. |
