Adelphian Concert Choir

Choral group at Puget SoundFounded in 1932, the 48-voice Adelphian Concert Choir is one of the signature groups of the university and is recognized as one of the Northwest’s most acclaimed ensembles.  For more than 70 years this auditioned choir has sustained a level of choral excellence that has brought accolades from audiences in Canada, Europe, and on the West Coast.  It has appeared at the state, regional, and national conventions of both the American Choral Directors Association and the Music Educators National Conference.  Consistently, the Adelphians receive the highest acclaim for standards in repertoire, interpretation, and musicianship.

Members of Puget Sound's all-female Dorian SingersDorian Singers

The Dorian Singers is an auditioned, all-women’s choir of 32 that sings both accompanied and a cappella literature.  Now in its second decade, the Dorians have become recognized in the Northwest as one of the leading women’s ensembles.  It performs varied repertoire at a high artistic level in concerts and festivals on campus.

Voci d'Amici

Selected from the Adelphian Concert Choir, this acappella 12-voice ensemble performs in holiday concerts every December. Its repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to the 21st century.

Opera Theater & Workshop

Musical productionOur interest in musical stage works runs the gamut of the repertoire. Annually we present a full-length production of an opera, operetta, or musical. Past productions have included Amadeus, Cosi fan tutti, Hansel and Gretel, Merry Wives of Windsor, The Bartered Bride, Mikado, La Finta Giardiniera, Die Fledermaus, Patience, and the Pirates of Penzance.

University Chorale

As a school of music at a liberal arts college, we encourage all university students to participate in our program, regardless of their level of achievement. The non-auditioned University Chorale offers such an opportunity, performing on Fall Family Weekend as well as in December and May of each year. Enrollment varies by semester between 60 and 90 voices.

Underground Jazz

Begun in 1997 with a handful of music students, “UJ” is an ASUPS organization independent from the School of Music that focuses on vocal jazz.  They perform frequently for the campus community and also have opened for other music groups like the Grammy Award-winning Gospel Hummingbirds.  In its recent past Underground Jazz opened for the vocal acappella group M-Pact.
