NCRC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK
The Logger varsity boats took a break from competition last week but the novice rowers traveled up to Bellingham to take on Western Washington. This week, the entire team heads down to Vancouver for the NCRC Championships on Vancouver Lake.
Last Week
Taking on the three-time defending Division II national champions, the Puget Sound Logger novice rowers did a good job of competing with the Western Washington Vikings in a dual regatta on Lake Samish in Bellingham, Wash.
In the novice four, the Loggers raced two boats, finishing second and third to the Vikings. In the Novice 8+ races, the two squads split, with Western winning the first race by about 15 seconds and the Loggers taking the second race by about nine seconds.
In the National Rankings
The Logger women dropped one spot to seventh in last week's Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing national poll. Trinity (Conn.) has the top ranked V8+ in DIII.
