M. TENNIS POWERS PAST BEARCATS, 6-3
TACOMA, Wash. - Taking all three matches in doubles play, the Puget Sound Loggers were able to pick up a 6-3 victory over the Willamette Bearcats in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match on Saturday at the UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
In doubles play, the Loggers swept all three matches, including an 8-2 win by Scooter Sabel (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community) and Carl Larson (Portland, Ore./Wilson) over Micah Mack and Fizt Paccione.
In singles play, the Loggers picked up wins at the numbers two, four and five spots to clinch the NWC match and move up into fifth place in the conference standings.
Next week, the Loggers head to Yakima for the Northwest Conference Championships, beginning on Thursday.
