NOVICE ROWERS KEEP PACE WITH VIKINGS
BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Taking on the three-time defending Division II national champions, the Puget Sound Logger novice rowers did a good job of competing with the Western Washington Vikings in a dual regatta on Lake Samish in Bellingham, Wash.
In the novice four, the Loggers raced two boats, finishing second and third to the Vikings. In the Novice 8+ races, the two squads split, with Western winning the first race by about 15 seconds and the Loggers taking the second race by about nine seconds.
Puget Sound did not race any varsity boats at the regatta.
The Loggers return to the water next Saturday as they travel to Vancouver, Wash. for the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference (NCRC) Championships on Lake Vancouver.
