M. TENNIS DROPS TWO AT W'S
WALLA WALLA, Wash. - One day after dropping a 6-3 decision at Whitworth, the Puget Sound Loggers feell at nationally-ranked Whitman, 9-0, in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match on Saturday afternoon in Walla Walla, Wash.
On Friday night, junior Jamie Hosmer (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino) collected a solid win at the number one singles spot, defeating Josh Steele, 7-6, 6-0. Hosmer also collected a win in doubles, teaming up with Sam McCullugh (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) to defeat Ed Anegon and Brian Elliott, 9-7. Sophomore Scooter Sabol (Sun Valley, Idaho/Community) collected the last Logger point, defeating Joe Wales, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8) at the number five singles spot.
On Saturday, the 19th-ranked Whitman showed the Loggers why they are among the best in the nation, sweeping past Puget Sound en route to the 9-0 victory.
The Loggers return to Tacoma on Friday afternoon when they play host to George Fox.
