LOGGER MEN FIFTH AT NWC SPRING CLASSIC

BANKS, Ore. - Playing in the second official Northwest Conference event of the 2007-08 season, the Puget Sound Loggers finished fifth at the NWC Men's Spring Classic at Quail Valley Golf Club in Banks, Ore.

Logger senior Greg Swanson (University Place, Wash./Curtis) and sophomore Mike Pannier (Sandy, Utah/Brighton) recorded second round scores of 76 and 79 respectively to tie with teammate Jordan Hodge (Tucson, Ariz.) for 16th overall, 19 strokes back of medalist Max Bonk of Pacific.

The Pacific Boxers won the two-day event with a score of 592.  Whitworth was second, shooting 514, followed by Linfield (618), Pacific Lutheran (634), Puget Sound (639), Willamette (679), Whitman (681), George Fox (705) and Lewis & Clark (769).

The final NWC event of the season will occur on April 19-20 at the NWC Championships on Apple Tree GC in Yakima, Wash.

NWC Championship Standings (Through Fall & Spring Classics): Linfield 14, Pacific 14, Whitworth 14, Pacific Lutheran 10, Puget Sound 8, Willamette 6, Whitman 3, George Fox 2, Lewis & Clark 2.
