WOMEN'S GOLF THIRD AT NWC SPRING CLASSIC
BANKS, Ore. - Following a strong day one, the Puget Sound Loggers clinched third place at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Saturday at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks, Ore. with a round of 368 for a two-day total of 734.
Maresa Jenson (Whitefish, Mont.) shot a 90 on day two to finish in fourth place with a score of 178. Kristine Juhola (Milwaukie, Ore.) and Sarah Bicker (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) both improved their day one scores by two strokes to finish with rounds of 91 to bring their totals to 184, good enough to tie for 10th place.
Whitney Ueno of Willamette took medalist honors, shooting a 160 (81-79) to win by seven strokes over Brynn Hurdus of Linfield. Pacific and Linfield tied for the team title, with both teams shooting 724. With the shared win, Pacific maintained their lead in the Northwest Conference standings, holding a three point lead over Linfield. Puget Sound is fifth in the standings, heading into the NWC Championships on April 19-20 in Sisters, Ore.
