LOGGER HOOPSTERS EARN REGIONAL HONORS

TACOMA, Wash. - The three Puget Sound Logger basketball players who hit the 1000-point milestone in 2007-08 have been honored by D3hoops.com, earning All-West Region honors.  For the men, junior Antwan Williams (Portland, Ore./Madison) was a second team selection while junior Jason Foster (Tacoma, Wash./Foss) earned third team honors.  For the women, senior Laura Hirsh (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) was named a third team selection.

Williams ended the year averaging 17.3 ppg with 147 assists on the year and 73 steals.  He also picked up his 1000th point at Whitworth in February.  Foster led the Loggers in scoring this season, averaging 18.3 ppg and bringing down 5.8 rebounds per contest.  Foster scored his 1000th point on February 2nd at home against George Fox.

Hirsh earns honors after helping to lead the Loggers to a second straight Northwest Conference crown and a third straight trip to the NCAA tournament.  After averaging 13.7 ppg for UPS in her senior campaign, Hirsh broke the 1000-point plateau in her final game against George Fox.
