LOGGER MEN TOP NWC FINISHER AT WILLAMETTE INVITE
SALEM, Ore. - Playing 36 holes in one day, the Puget Sound Loggers were the top finishing Northwest Conference school at the Willamette Invitational on Monday at Creekside Golf Club in Salem, Ore. Puget Sound finished +70 for the day to finish 15 strokes back of first-place Northwest Nazarene.
The Loggers were led by senior Greg Swanson (University Place, Wash./Curtis), who shot a +11 score of 155 to tie for fourth. Sophomore Jordan Hodge (Tucson, Ariz.) tied for sixth overall at +13 (157). Justin Ahrens of Northwest Christian took medalist honors, shooting +2.
The Loggers finished fifth overall in the team standings, but were the top finishing Northwest Conference school, finishing one stroke ahead of Pacific Lutheran and two strokes ahead of host-Willamette.
The Loggers will next be in action on March 29 for the NWC Spring Classic at Quail Valley Golf Course in Forest Grove, Ore.
