LINFIELD SNEAKS PAST M. TENNIS, 6-3
TACOMA, Wash. - Puget Sound junior Jamie Hosmer (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino) won both his matches on the day but the Loggers fell to the Linfield Wildcats, 6-3, in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match on Saturday afternoon at the UPS Tennis Pavilion in Tacoma, Wash.
In doubles play, Hosmer teamed up with Sam McCullugh (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) to defeat the team of Nick Ruess and Kyle Anderson, 8-5. Unfortunately for the Loggers, the Wildcats won the remaining doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.
In individual play, Hosmer again picked up the win at the number one spot, this time 7-5,6-1 over Ruess. Nick Amlund (Scottsdale, Ariz./Eastlake) won at the number two spot, outlasting Anderson, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3. The Wildcats took the remaining singles matches to collect the win.
The Loggers now break for Spring Break and will next take the court on March 29 at Pacific.
