Looking Toward Nationals

While the Loggers didn't take home the team titles, the University of Puget Sound men's and women's swim programs had an outstanding Northwest Conference Championship last weekend at the King County Aquatic Center. On the weekend, the Loggers met 10 provisional qualifying marks and one automatic qualifying mark.

Loggers Take Second at NWC Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - It could be called the end of an era but for the Puget Sound Loggers, the 2008 Northwest Conference Swimming Championships was an extremely successful meet. For the first time since 1997, the Logger women did not take home the conference championships but Puget Sound put together a pair of rock-solid second place finishes in both the men's and women's team standings.

Records Fall For Loggers On Day Two of NWC Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Much to the delight of the Puget Sound Loggers, day two of the Northwest Conference Swimming Championships began much like day one ended as the Loggers swept the evening session-opening relays on Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.

Loggers In Strong Second After Day One of NWC Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - On day one of the Northwest Conference Swimming Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., the Puget Sound Loggers put themselves in a strong position to contend for a pair of NWC crowns, holding down second place on both the men's and women's sides.

Getting Ready

The dual portion of the schedule is over but that doesn't mean the season is over as the Loggers begin preparations for next week's Northwest Conference Championships at the Weyerhaeuser/King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Puget Sound won both ends of Northwest Conference dual meet Friday evening at the Paul Harvey Pool, but no one swam any better that Whitman freshman Jamie Nusse, who won all three of his individual events.

Snow Cancels Loggers Dual With 'Yotes

CALDWELL, Idaho - Heavy snow in Eastern Oregon prevented the University of Puget Sound Loggers from reaching their destination of Caldwell, Idaho for a non-conference swim meet with the College of Idaho Coyotes, forcing the two squads to cancel the competition.

Loggers Swept In Dual Finale

SPOKANE, Wash. - In the final dual meet of the Northwest Conference season, the Puget Sound Loggers were swept by the host Whitworth Pirates on Saturday afternoon in Spokane, Wash. Whitworth won 128-77 on the women's side and 121-84 on the men's side.

Swimming East

The Loggers hit the road once again this week, wrapping up the dual portion of the schedule this week as they travel to College of Idaho, Whitman and Whitworth.

The Puget Sound Loggers picked up a 137-63 win over the Linfield Wildcats on the women's side but the Wildcats got the better of the Logger on the men's side, winning 107-98, in a Northwest Conference swimming dual on Friday evening at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

Loggers Sweep Pios In Pool

TACOMA, Wash. - In the final home swim meet on the season, the Puget Sound Loggers made the most of the opportunity, sweeping visiting Lewis & Clark in a Northwest Conference swim dual on Saturday afternoon at Wallace Pool in Tacoma, Wash. The women won 113-86 while the men were victorious, 101-76.

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Puget Sound Loggers picked up a 137-63 win over the Linfield Wildcats on the women's side but the Wildcats got the better of the Logger on the men's side, winning 107-98, in a Northwest Conference swimming dual on Friday evening at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.

Back In the Pool

It's back to Northwest Conference competition this week as the Loggers head down to Linfield on Friday and return to Tacoma on Saturday to play host to Lewis & Clark.

The Loggers spent nearly two weeks in the great state of Hawaii on the annual winter training trip. Swimming at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on the campus of University of Hawaii at Manoa.

McMINNVILLE, Ore./FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Swimming for the final time this calendar year, the Puget Sound Loggers competed at both the Northwest Invitational in McMinnville, Ore. and the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Wash.

Loggers Spend Friday In The Pool

McMINNVILLE, Ore./FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - The Puget Sound Loggers spent most of Friday in the water, sending representatives to both the Husky Invitational at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash. and the Northwest Invitational, hosted by Linfield in McMinnville, Ore.

Wallace Pool Update

The Loggers are happy to report that repairs to the Wallace Pool building are complete and the pool is open once again for use.

Loggers Can't Outswim Redhawks

SEATTLE, Wash. - Swimming a meet comprised exclusively of mixed relays, the Puget Sound Loggers fell to the Division II Seattle Redhawks, 141-58, in a non-conference swim meet on Saturday afternoon at Seattle University in Seattle, Wash.

The Loggers showed their depth in the pool last week when they traveled to Pacific. This week, they will be tested as they take on Division II Seattle University up in the Emerald City.

Splish-Splash

The Loggers swam well at the NWC Sprint Pentathlon and NWC Relay Meet last weekend in Walla Walla but the real season begins this week when they swim against Pacific Lutheran and Willamette in NWC dual meets.

Always among the elite in the Northwest Conference in the pool, the 2007-08 Puget Sound Logger swim program started the season with two strong days of swimming at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.

Swim Meets Moved Off-Campus

TACOMA, Wash. - Due to the temporary closure of Wallace Pool for repairs, the Puget Sound Loggers scheduled Northwest Conference swim meets have been moved to sites off-campus.

Swimmers Open Up 07-08 In Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Always among the elite in the Northwest Conference in the pool, the 2007-08 Puget Sound Logger swim program started the season with two strong days of swimming at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. Senior Amy Polansky (Menomonie, Wis.) placed third in the NWC Spring Pentathlon on Friday night and the Loggers took a pair of seconds and a third in the NWC Relays on Saturday.
