Starting three seniors, two juniors, two sophomores and four freshman, the 2007 Puget Sound women's soccer team showed the country that the future is bright in the Northwest as the Loggers advanced to the Sectional Final of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

#4 Loggers Can't Escape Thunder

WHEATON, Ill. - For the fifth time in the last six seasons, the Puget Sound Loggers played their way to the Sectional Final of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. In 2007, the ride ended there as they lost to the top-ranked Wheaton (Ill.) Thunder, 2-0, in a game played on Saturday evening in Wheaton, Ill.

Levien's Record-Setting Day Leads Loggers Into Sectional Final

WHEATON, Ill. - Sophomore Janece Levien (Beaverton, Ore.) recorded yet another hat-trick and set a new school record for goals in a season as the Puget Sound Loggers picked up a 3-2 overtime win over the Wartburg Knight in the Sectional Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Friday evening in Wheaton, Ill.

On To The Land of Lincoln

For the fifth time in the past six seasons, the Puget Sound Loggers have advanced to the Sectionals of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship and will travel to Wheaton, Ill. this weekend to join Wartburg, UW Stevens Point and Wheaton for the chance to advance to the national semifinals in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. next week.

Loggers In The Midwest

TACOMA, Wash. - Both the Puget Sound Logger volleyball and women's soccer teams knew that they would be heading to Illinois this week to continue runs towards the national championship but the details of their adventures became much clearer on Monday. The volleyball team will be representing the entire West Region at the 2007 NCAA Division III National Championships in Bloomington, Ill. while the women's soccer team will be traveling to Wheaton, Ill. for the Sectional portion of the NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Championships. Also competing in nationals this weekend will be members of both the men's and women's cross country teams, who will be running in Northfield, Minn.

#4 Loggers Advance To Sectionals With 2-1 Win

TACOMA, Wash. - Coaches will say that the toughest thing to do in sports is beat an opponent three times in one season but that is just what the fourth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers did, defeating the 11th-ranked Whitworth Pirates, 2-1, in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday afternoon on East Athletic Field in Tacoma, Wash.

Loggers Move On With 3-0 Win Over Regals

TACOMA, Wash. - 2007 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year Janece Levien (Beaverton, Ore.) scored her 22nd goal of the season to break a scoreless tie against the Cal Lutheran Regals and the Puget Sound Loggers added two more in the second half as Puget Sound defeated Cal Lutheran, 3-0, in the First Round of the 2007 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship at East Athletic Field in Tacoma, Wash.

NWC Champ Loggers Dominate All-NWC Awards

SPOKANE, Wash. - After picking up a sixth straight Northwest Conference women's soccer title, the Puget Sound Loggers were represented well on the 2007 All-NWC teams. The journey towards a possible national title begins this week and the Puget Sound Loggers will get to begin that trip in front of the hometown faithful, playing host to the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. #4 Loggers Forced To Settle For Scoreless Draw

NEWBERG, Ore. - It was not the way the fourth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers wanted to clinch sole possession of the Northwest Conference women's soccer title but they got the job done, playing to a scoreless draw at George Fox on Friday afternoon in Newberg, Ore.

Logger Soccer Earns Academic Honors

TACOMA, Wash. - Already among the top players on the field, three Puget Sound Logger soccer players have been honored for their work off the field and in the classroom. Men's senior defender Andrew Hewitt (Monroe, Wash./Archbishop Murphy) has been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team while sophomore goalkeeper Kallie Wolfer (Salt Lake City, Utah/Skyline) and senior forward Adrienne Folsom (Lakewood, Wash./Charles Wright Academy) picked up Second Team honors on the women's side.

Sixth Straight With No End In Sight

It may be too early to proclaim mission accomplished for the 2007 Puget Sound Loggers but the first checkpoint has been reached as the Loggers used a pair of wins in Eastern Washington to clinch a sixth-straight Northwest Conference title and the seventh in the last eight seasons. This week, the Loggers will attempt to wrap up a perfect regular season as they travel down to George Fox and Pacific on Friday and Saturday.

Loggers Clinch 6th Straight NWC Title With 2-1 Win

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Led by two goals from sophomore forward Janece Levien (Beaverton, Ore.), the fourth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers clinched their sixth straight Northwest Conference title on Sunday with a 2-1 win over the host Whitman Missionaries in Walla Walla.

With just two weeks to go in the 2007 regular season, the fourth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers are in the drivers seat of the Northwest Conference title race. TACOMA, Wash. - The seventh-ranked Puget Sound Loggers outshot their opponents from Willamette, 26-8, and outscored the Bearcats as well, 3-2, in a Northwest Confernce women's soccer game on Sunday in Tacoma. With the win, the Loggers stay undefeated.

#7 Loggers Win NWC Opener, 2-0

PORTLAND, Ore. - Freshman Alyx Tilley (Albuquerque, N.M./Sandia) scored her first collegiate goal and senior Katie Gillette (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley) scored her second of the season as the seventh-ranked Puget Sound Loggers defeated the Lewis & Clark Pioneers, 2-0, in a Northwest Conference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon in Portland, Ore. It was the NWC opener for both schools.

Going For Title #6

After four straight wins, including three shutouts, to open the home portion of the 2007 schedule, the Loggers will open up Northwest Conference play and make their road debut on Saturday at Lewis & Clark. Following that, the Loggers will return home on Sunday to take on Willamette.
