Palmer Named To AFCA's 2007 Aztec Bowl Squad

WACO, Texas - Puget Sound offensive lineman Steve Palmer has been selected to play for the American Football Coaches Association's Division III all-star team that will represent the United States against the Mexican National Team in the 2007 Aztec Bowl on December 8 in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Wrapping It Up

The Loggers wrapped up the 2007 season last weekend with a 34-13 loss at the hands of NWC champion Whitworth. Plagued by injuries through much of the season, a number of young Loggers were able to get on the gridiron this fall and they will surely be hungry for 2008.

TACOMA, Wash. - On an afternoon celebrating the 16 Seniors of the Puget Sound Logger football team and honoring the parents of the squad, the Whitworth Pirates spoiled the party by scoring on their first three possessions of the game in a Northwest Conference football game on Saturday afternoon at Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma.

Ames, Freeman Named Academic All-District

TACOMA, Wash. - Following years of hard work in the classroom as well as on the field, Senior punter Brian Ames (Portland, Ore./Jesuit) and junior offensive lineman Boone Freeman (Tonasket, Wash.) have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team, as announced on Thursday morning.

Goodbye to the Seniors

The Loggers will attempt to put together their second straight winning season this weekend when they play host to Whitworth. Kickoff with the Pirates is set for 1:00 p.m. on Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.

Loggers Jammed By Oaks, 45-13

ATHERTON, Calif. - Held to just 239 yards offensively, the Puget Sound Loggers fell to the host Menlo Oaks, 45-13, in a Northwest Conference football game on Saturday afternoon on Conner Field in Atherton, Calif.

Back To Work

After a week away from competition, the Loggers are ready once again to hit the gridiron as they travel to Atherton, Calif. and Menlo College on Saturday for a game with the Menlo Oaks. Kickoff is set for Noon on Conner Athletic Field.

Taking a Rest

The Loggers head into a bye week this week after picking up a big 69-31 win at Lewis & Clark last week. Silas Paul ran for five touchdowns as the Loggers nearly matched their school-record of 70 points in a game. Following a week of rest, the Loggers will head down to Menlo on Nov. 3.

Loggers Rush Past Pios, 69-31

PORTLAND, Ore. - Gaining touchdowns on their first seven possessions, the Puget Sound Loggers ran all over the Lewis & Clark Pioneers, 69-31, in a Northwest Conference football game on Saturday afternoon at Griswold Stadium in Portland, Ore. The 69 points scored by the Loggers fall just one short of the school record, set last season against the Pioneers.

Strong Defense Leads Loggers Past Bearcats, 13-7

TACOMA, Wash. - Using a handful of big defensive plays and couple lucky breaks, the Puget Sound Loggers picked up their first conference win of the season, defeating the Willamette Bearcats, 13-7, in a Northwest Conference football game in front of 3,712 fans on Saturday afternoon on Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.

Coming Home For Homecoming

After two weeks on the road, the Puget Sound Loggers return to Tacoma on Saturday. This week, they entertain the Willamette Bearcats in the Loggers' annual homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Baker Stadium in Tacoma.

Linfield Offense Too Much For Loggers

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Overpowered by the Linfield offense and shutout by the Wildcat defense, the Puget Sound Loggers fell victim to the 23rd-ranked Linfield Wildcats, 37-0, in a Northwest Conference football game on Saturday at Maxwell Field in McMinnville, Ore.

Turnovers Costly As Loggers Fall To Lutes, 37-8

PUYALLUP, Wash. - Junior Kavin Williams (Ocean Shores, Wash./North Beach) made his long-awaited return to the gridiron but turnovers proved costly for the Puget Sound Loggers as they fell at the hands of the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, 37-8, in the Northwest Conference opener for both schools on Saturday at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

After three weeks on non-conference play, the Puget Sound Loggers will not only open Northwest Conference play this weekend but they will do so against cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran. Paul Rushes Loggers To 22-12 Victory
