Edible Book Festival 2008 A Success! On Wednesday, April 1, 2008, Collins Memorial Library participated once again in the annual Edible Book Festival, held nationally around April Fool's Day. What is an edible book? Desserts on any author, title or genre was fair game. Creative license, humor and "punning" were definitely encouraged. This year at least 30 entries were contributed by six library staff members, five students, six staff from other departments, and three children of staff members. Onlookers got a big kick out of the event, as they viewed the McCormick room tables adorned with humorous delectables.
The winning crowd favorite was "Sisterhood of the Traveling Ants," by Liz Howell from the Bookstore. Many folks commented that "it wasn't easy just voting for one". All the entries were creativity competitive:
