SPOKANE, Wash. - Playing in their first road match of the 2008 season, the Puget Sound Loggers were swept by the Whitworth Pirates, 9-0, in a Northwest Conference women's tennis match on Friday afternoon at Scotford Tennis Center in Spokane.
The Pirates picked up the early 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play. In singles competition, the Loggers were unable to force any third sets as the Pirates picked up their fifth victory of the season.
The Loggers now head to Walla Walla on Saturday to take on Whitman in a match scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
