LOGGERS THINK PINK
TACOMA, Wash. - The University of Puget Sound men's and women's basketball teams will join this Saturday in an effort to raise Breast Cancer Awareness through the "Think Pink" campaign as well as celebrate Girls and Women in Sports Day. The Logger women will tip off with George Fox at 6:00 p.m. with the men following at 8:00 p.m.
The Women's Basketball Coaches Assocation's "Think Pink" initiative is a global, unified effort for the WBCA's nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. TRA Medical Imaging, as well as the Collins Memorial Library, have partnered with the basketball programs to join the fight against breast cancer.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and learn more about breast cancer with the TRA Medical Imaging staff and donate to the Breast Cancer Resource Center in Tacoma. Two women will be recognized during the night for their contributions to Girls and Women in Sports.
Whether you wear a pink ribbon, pink t-shirt, make a donation, or hand out flyers, the importance comes in the awareness you create. So get you pink ready and join the Loggers as they take on the George Fox Bruins on Feb. 2 for the 2008 "Think Pink" event. Let's all be part of finding an answer.
