LOGGERS SWEPT IN DUAL FINALE

SPOKANE, Wash. - In the final dual meet of the Northwest Conference season, the Puget Sound Loggers were swept by the host Whitworth Pirates on Saturday afternoon in Spokane, Wash. Whitworth won 128-77 on the women's side and 121-84 on the men's side.

For the Logger women, Leesa Cotton won the 100 backstroke (1:02.41) and Amy Polansky took the 100 breaststroke (1:10.36) for the Loggers (6-1, 6-1). Both were also part of the winning 200 medley relay (1:55.49).

On the men's side, Jackson Kowalski won the 100 backstroke (55.13) for UPS (4-3, 4-3), while Paul Hughes posted the NWC's best time in the 100 breaststroke (58.73) this season. The Loggers also won both relays, taking the 200 medley relay in 1:37.86 and the 200 freestyle relay in 1:29.77.

Both teams will now turn their attention to the 2008 Northwest Conference championship meet on February 8-10 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington. The Whitworth men are aiming for their sixth consecutive NWC title. The UPS women have won every NWC title since they joined the conference for the 1996-97 season (11 in a row).
