TACOMA, Wash. - Overcoming a 14-point second-half deficit, the ninth-ranked Puget Sound Loggers moved to 3-0 in conference play with a 125-116 double-overtime victory over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in a Northwest Conference men's basketball game on Tuesday evening at Memorial Fieldhouse in Tacoma, Wash.
The Lutes (6-5, 2-1 NWC) put the pressure on the Loggers (10-1, 3-0 NWC) from the beginning, holding a 10-point lead midway through the period. In the second period, PLU pushed the lead to 14 with 13:55 remaining but the Logger began to chip away, pulling even on a layup by Robert Krauel (Phoenix, Ariz./North Canyon) with 6:58 remaining and then ahead by two on a Krauel jumper just 29 seconds later. After PLU retook the lead briefly, Weston Wood (Spokane, Wash./Riverside) tied the game at 100 on a jumper with 35 seconds remaining.
