Debbie Hill Joins Library Staff The library extends a warm welcome to our newest staff member, Debbie Hill. Debbie joined our team in December as Access Services Specialist. Some of you may already know Debbie, as she worked as the library specialist at the Powell Resource Center in the School of Education from 1988 to February 2007. Prior to her work at the University, she held positions at Tacoma Community College, George Washington University, and University of California, Santa Barbara. Debbie has a genuine love of libraries and enjoys helping students, faculty, and staff. Help us welcome Debbie back to campus! When asked what she likes about working in the library, Debbie said: "I love being part of a group effort where the whole purpose is to provide access to information to people. I've always felt that a great library is a vital part of any university and any community. I started out working in an academic library and now working in Collins Library is like coming home to me. Having the opportunity to work here is fun for me because of the great people here whom I'm enjoying getting to know, and it's personally satisfying because of being in close contact with all sorts of wonderful information and being in an academic environment. As someone once said, the library is the soul of the university, and what better place could there be to work than that?" --Lori Ricigliano Associate Director for Information & Access Services |
