TACOMA, Wash. - Junior guard Antwan Williams (Portland, Ore./Madison) scored 29 points and dished out eight assists as the 14th-ranked Puget Sound Loggers won a physical contest, 121-101, over the NCAA Division II Cal State Stanislaus Warriors in a non-conference men's basketball game on Saturday night at Memorial Fieldhouse in Tacoma, Wash. The Loggers (6-0) used their quick style of play to jump out to a ten-point lead just five minutes into the contest, pushing that to 22 at the 10:54 mark in the first half and 32 at the 8:14 mark over the Warriors (2-5). Williams chalked up 19 points in the first half as the Loggers took a 71-46 lead into the break.
In the second period, things began to get physical. CSUS was able to cut into the lead a little bit, bringing the defecit below 20 points at the 15:42 mark, 83-64. The two teams continued to battle until they came to blows at the 15:22 mark when Rick Cardoso of the Warriors threw a punch at Logger forward Robert Krauel (Phoenix, Ariz./North Canyon) following a foul on a rebound and Cardoso was ejected from the contest.
The two teams continued to play tough but the Puget Sound lead was too much for Stanislaus to handle as the Loggers stayed perfect on the season with a 121-101 victory.
The Loggers were led by the 29 points and eight assists from Williams. Junior Jason Foster (Tacoma, Wash./Foss) added 23 points while Taylor Marsh (Lynnwood, Wash./Meadowdale) chipped in 21. Junior guard Steffond Brown (Seattle, Wash./Lower Columbia) added 16 off the bench while Weston Wood (Spokane, Wash./Riverside) led all players with 12 rebounds.

The Loggers will now study up for finals and then take a break for the holidays. Puget Sound will next be in action on Dec. 28 when the Loggers take on Edgewood at the Tom Byron Classic in Santa Barbara, Calif.
