Looking for a conservationist?

books on a shelf

Books with minor damage can be repaired in-house. At this time, we are equipped to handle minor repairs to spines, torn pages, and loose text-blocks. Major repairs are sent to Heckman-ICI Binding.

Periodicals are bound together for easy storage and access. Bound Periodicals are for library use only and cannot be checked out. Periodicals are sent to Heckman-ICI Binding in Walla Walla, Washington for binding. Heckman-ICI Binding picks up and delivers once a month, when the issues have been pulled from the shelves, they are unavailable for approximately one month. You can check the status of journal volumes in SIMON, our online catalog. Search for the correct journal title, then click on the "latest received" link. You can view the boxes representing journal issues. Those boxes with a status of "To Bind" are in the process of being bound.

Some periodicals are bound in-house. These issues are pulled from the shelves and bound by our own library student staff. This process takes approximately two weeks, the issues never leave the building and are available if needed.
