SWIMMING NORTH
The Loggers showed their depth in the pool last week when they traveled to Pacific. This week, they will be tested as they take on Division II Seattle University up in the Emerald City.
The Loggers vs. Pacific
Combining to win 17 of 22 events, the Puget Sound Loggers swept a Northwest Conference swimming dual from the host Pacific Boxers on Saturday afternoon in Forest Grove, Ore. The Loggers won 138-32 on the women's side and 115-72 on the men's side.
Amy Polansky (Melonomie, Wis.) was the lone double winner for the Loggers on Saturday. Polansky took first in the 200 IM, finishing with a time of 2:16.57 and then she took first in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:08.99.
On the men's side. picked up wins from five different individuals as they improved their dual record to 2-1 on the young season.
Best in the Northwest
The Northwest Conference released the first top times list of the season this week and the Loggers were well represented. Nicholas Allen currently has the best 50 Freestyle time at 21.86 while Jackson Kowalski is tops in the 200 Back (2:01.91). The Loggers have also put together the fastest 200 Medley Relay (1:40.29).
On the women's side, Amy Polansky is tops in 100 Breast (1:08.99), 200 Breast (2:28.35), and 200 IM (2:16.57).
The Coach
Chris Myhre returns as head coach of the Logger swim program. A graduate of the University of Hawaii-Manoa, Myhre has coached 71 NAIA All-Americans, 16 NCAA All-Americans, 11 individual NAIA National Champions and led the Loggers to NAIA team titles for women in 1996, 1998 and 1999 and men's titles from 1995-97.
