LOGGER WOMEN FINISH 5TH AT NWC FALL CLASSIC

MISSION, Ore. - Led by a combined 172 (94-78) from Maresa Jenson (Whitefish, Mont.), the defending Northwest Conference champion Puget Sound Loggers finished fifth at the NWC Fall Classic, played at Wildhorse Resort Golf Course in Mission, Ore.

After high scores on Saturday due to poor weather, the golfers had an easier go on Sunday afternoon.  Jenson's 78 on day two was just a stroke back of the day's best score, 77, shot by four other golfers.  Senior Kristine Juhola (Milwaukie, Ore.) shot an 81 on day two to finish with a total of 174.  As a team, th eLoggers finished with 720 strokes.

Pacific took the team title and the intial lead in the NWC title race, shooting a 665 in the 36-hole event.  Whitworth was second, followed by George Fox, Linfield, Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran and Willamette.  Lewis & Clark and host Whitman did not field enough golfers to score.  Brynn Hardus of Linfield won the individual honors, carding a 159.
