RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will teach studio violin. Assignment may include coaching chamber music or teaching a course in aural skills, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Participation in departmental governance expected. QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Music required, Doctorate in Music preferred. Record of excellence in violin teaching and performance, and commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education also required. RANK AND SALARY: Visiting Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with education and experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will direct choral ensembles, including the Adelphian Concert Choir. Teaching responsibilities will include conducting and may include courses in applied or academic areas of the candidate's specialization. The candidate will also be responsible for directing on-campus choral festivals and providing leadership in recruitment. Other duties include continuation of professional development, advising students, and participation in departmental and university governance. QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate (ABD considered) in music, with emphasis in choral conducting preferred. Record of successful choral conducting and commitment to undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education required. RANK AND SALARY: Assistant or Associate Professor; salary and rank commensurate with education and experience.
