2008 Annual Meeting of the Classical Association of the Pacific Northwest

The University of Puget Sound is pleased to be the host for the next annual meeting of the Classical Association of the Pacific Northwest (CAPN) to be held on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29, 2008.

Memory and exempla in Livy and Vergil

Christina Kraus taught at New York University, University College London, and Oxford University prior to joining the faculty at Yale in 2004. She is the author of numerous books and articles which explore diverse topics including the works of Livy, Greek tragedy, historiography, and genre, including a well-received commentary on Livy Ab urbe condita VI in the Cambridge Greek and Latin Classics series. She has served as editor or co-editor of volumes on Latin historians and The limits of historiography: Genre and narrative in ancient historical texts, as well as a forthcoming collection, in honor of Froma Zeitlin, called Visualizing the Tragic. She is currently co-writing a commentary on Tacitus' Agricola with Tony Woodman.

The Silver Cloud Inn has sold all of its available rooms.  Accomodations are available at nearby B & B's; locations in the North End are generally within walking distance of campus.  You can try asking for the UPS rate, but no special arrangements have been made with any of these establishments.
