MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS LEOPARDS TO OPEN 2007
LA VERNE, Calif. - The Puget Sound Logger men's soccer team began the year ranked 20th in the country according to the voters at D3Kicks.com. On Saturday night, the Loggers proved they deserve the national attention, blanking the La Verne Leopards, 3-0, in a non-conference match in La Verne, Calif.
The Loggers earned goals from Alex Lehecka (Burlington, Wash./Burlington-Edison), Derek Woodworth (Tacoma, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) and Cole Peterson (Great Falls, Mont./C.M. Russell) to collect the win. No further stats were made available following the contest.
The Loggers will remain in Southern California through the Holiday weekend, taking on Occidental on Monday afternoon before returning to Tacoma for a pair of games at home next weekend.
