Kyle HaugenMusic Admission CoordinatorPhone: 253.879.3917 E-mail As the music admission coordinator, Kyle Haugen brings to his position a broad cross-section of Puget Sound experience and a close bond to the university. A Tacoma native, he took music lessons through the Community Music department before double majoring in Music and Communication as an undergraduate. During his years as a student at Puget Sound, Kyle took part in a broad cross-section of university activities and lived in the Music House for two years. His music studies included organ and voice lessons, participation in the Adelphian Concert Choir and in the Madrigal Singers (now Voci d'Amici), and leading roles in the Opera Theater. In addition, he presented three music events in Kilworth Chapel as independent projects. After earning Master of Sacred Music degree from Luther Seminary in conjunction with St. Olaf College, Kyle returned to Tacoma to work in public relations and marketing communication. He then moved to Boston, where his work as a professional musician spanned Baroque organ, professional choral singing, and musical direction for a full production of A Chorus Line. Also a published composer, his music was featured in a holiday program broadcast annually on PBS television nationwide for four years. Kyle notes, "The breadth of opportunity for music study and performance at Puget Sound is truly impressive. It's a pleasure to help students discover how a Puget Sound education can equip them as musicians and scholars." |
