Photograph Collection InformationThe Collection consists of still images of people, buildings, events, athletics, and the campus environments of the University of Puget Sound over its existence. It includes photographs, slides, negatives (including a large collection of oversized negatives from the 40s). In addition, there is a number (several dozen) of 8mm short films and several 16mm films mainly about on campus events and happenings back to the 1930s. The photographs are organized first into five major time periods, beginning with 1884 and corresponding to the four presidential administrations after 1923, and then by subject category.
- 1884 - 1923: pre-origin, Methodist promoters et al; early campus sites, Jason Lee area, University Place, etc.
- 1923 - 1942: Edward H. Todd presidency
- 1942 - 1973: R. Franklin Thompson presidency
- 1973 - 1992: Philip M. Phibbs presidency
- 1992 - 2003: Susan Resneck Pierce presidency
