Second Annual Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour Comes to Tacoma on Dec. 5
November 22, 2006
Tacoma, Wash. - Hot on the heels of the wildly popular Banff Mountain Film Festival (BMFF), one of the largest and most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world, the BMFF World Tour is on the road, with stops planned in more than 250 communities and 25 countries across the globe.
And once again, University of Puget Sound Outdoor Programs and the Tacoma Mountaineers have partnered to bring the world tour and its spirit of outdoor adventure to the South Puget Sound region. Held on the Puget Sound campus at Schneebeck Concert Hall, the event is open to the public. Admission is $10 ($5 for Puget Sound students, faculty, and staff). Tickets may be purchased in advance at the UPS Information Center, by calling 253.879.3419, or at the door. Directions to campus are available online.
This year’s tour features a collection of the most inspiring and thought-provoking action, environmental, and adventure mountain films seen during the festival. From moving footage of remote landscapes and cultures to up-close-and-personal looks at adrenaline-packed action sports, the 2006-07 BMFF World Tour is an exhilarating and provocative exploration of the mountain world.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is produced by Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre, and features award-winners and audience favorites from approximately 300 films entered in the annual festival in Banff. Since 1976, the festival has been held during the first weekend in November.
