Author of The Darwin Awards Coming to Campus on Nov. 8

Wendy Northcutt, the creator of the wildly popular Darwin Awards, is coming to University of Puget Sound for a special appearance and book signing. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the Wheelock Student Center Boardroom.

Northcutt will sign copies of her newest book-the fourth edition of The Darwin Awards ($19.95, Penguin Press). Copies will be available for purchase during the event.

Northcutt is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in molecular biology; she began collecting the stories that make up The Darwin Awards in 1993. Her award-winning Web site is one of the most popular humor pages on the internet.

The Darwin Awards have been profiled in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Entertainment Weekly, and on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Northcutt  previously authored the international bestsellers, The Darwin Awards: Evolution in Action, The Darwin Awards 2: Unnatural Selection, and The Darwin Awards 3: Survival of the Fittest.
