RECRUITING

University of Puget Sound Football

Welcome to the University of Puget Sound Football Recruiting page. If you are a student-athlete interested in playing football at the University of Puget Sound we would ask that you fill out our Online Student Athlete Questionnaire Form. Following the submission of your questionnaire we will provide you with information about our university; our football program, academic offerings, our community and other concerns of which you should have some knowledge prior to selecting a school.

The University of Puget Sound is a private liberal arts college located in Tacoma, Washington -- in the beautiful Puget Sound area. With over 60 degree programs and innumerable co-curricular opportunities, the University of Puget Sound offers something for all of its 2,800 undergraduates in a unique learning environment. The academic program consists of a core curriculum and a full range of arts and sciences plus pre-professional programs in medicine, law, dentistry, engineering (3-2), education, and physical as well as occupational therapy.

With 226 full-time teaching (not researching) faculty UPS prepares their students for success in today's competitive job market. 90% of Puget Sound graduates are employed within five years of graduation. The top five majors are biology, business and administration, english, politics and government and psychology. UPS was ranked #1 over 11 independent NW colleges for National Merit Scholars and our most recent recruiting class had an average GPA of 3.5 and SAT scores of 1150. This is indicative of the level of academic commitment required of our student-athletes.

Our football team competes in the Northwest Conference (NCAA Division III). The NWC consists of 6 private institutions in Oregon and Washington. Our non-conference competition is with various institutions from Oregon, California, Colorado and British Columbia. While there are no athletic scholarships available at this level of college football, there is opportunity for financial aid based on need and academic merit.

Our university is committed to a highly successful football program. We are striving to be a championship caliber program in every aspect. In order that we might achieve these goals we need athletes who are willing to make a commitment to excellence. A young man who loves competition and success will be very happy in the "Logger" football program.

Please remember that in addition to the quality of your classes and your extracurricular involvements, your SAT or ACT scores are vital to the schools you consider. The earlier you communicate your scores, the better your opportunity for admission. If you have not reported your scores to us, please report them to (253) 879-3457 as soon as possible. If you have not taken the SAT or ACT please make arrangements for the next available exam. Contact your school counselor for additional information.

Again, we would ask that you fill out our Online Student Athlete Questionnaire Form as soon as possible. It is very important for us to receive this questionnaire as it makes it difficult to further recruit you without the information it provides. We're looking forward to hearing from you so that you may become a part of this year's recruiting class.
