Sexuality Issues, Relationships, and Gender Education (SIRGE)

The SIRGE Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to facilitate and coordinate programming for the campus community centered on the topics of sexuality, healthy relationships, and gender.  The coordinator will actively engage related student groups and organizations working on these issues.

SIRGE sponsors events such as Take Back The Night and the Clothesline project and creates campus programs and events that address issues of sexuality and sexual identity, healthy relationships, sexual assault prevention, and gender.

SIRGE networks, facilitates, and maintains open lines of communication with related student groups and organizations, such as but not limited to: Bisexuals, Gays, Lesbians, and Allies for Diversity (B-GLAD), Women’s Voices, Vagina Anti-Violence Alliance (VAVA), VOX: Voices for Planned Parenthood, and the greek chapters.

SIRGE assists in training the facilitators of the “When Hello Gets Out of Hand” program during fall Orientation.

The SIRGE coordinator serves on the Campus Harassment Policy Work Group.
