John is new to the admission staff this year, and the youngest member of the full-time team. Although born in Iowa City, Iowa, he has lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of his life. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in the spring of 2007 with a degree in English. He especially enjoyed—and still enjoys—studying modern and contemporary poetry. During his four years at the University of Puget Sound, he played lacrosse, sang in the University Chorale, was involved in Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, and thoroughly explored the city of Tacoma. John can no longer imagine his life without such pleasures as the local Thai restaurants and the Grand Cinema. After wonderful experiences working in Athletics, Residence Life, and the Department of Student Services, he is delighted to have found a full-time position at his alma mater.
