Fall Civic Engagement FairEvery September, CIAC brings area community service providers together so that they may discuss with students the wide variety of civic engagement opportunities available in the Tacoma area. Participating agencies include many diverse organizations and services, including AIDS services, youth services, care and entertainment for the elderly and the disabled, tutorial programs, and many more. All representatives are invited to join the CIAC staff for brunch prior to the Fair.
This event has occurred on an annual basis for eighteen years and the entire campus has become well acquainted with all that it offers. Agency representatives are visited by not only students, but also by staff seeking out personal service opportunities and by faculty who wish to augment their courses with a service-learning component.
