1. What graduate programs does Puget Sound offer?

Puget Sound offers graduate programs in Education, Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and Master of Education in Counseling (MEd); in Occupational Therapy, Master  of Occupational Therapy (MOT), Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT), and Post-Professional Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (PPMSOT); and Physical Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).

The School of Education is dedicated to the preparation and continuing development of talented and committed educators. The school offers graduate programs for students planning careers in elementary or secondary school teaching (MAT) or as counselors (MEd). Puget Sound consistently places a higher percentage of its MAT graduates in teaching positions than any other teacher preparation program in Washington State. For more information, see the School of Education link at the right.

The primary objective of the School of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy at Puget Sound is to assist students in attaining the knowledge, skill, and attitudes required for the practice of occupational therapy or physical therapy.

The two-year master of occupational therapy degree program has two tracks. The research intensive track, which includes a rigorous research project, will result in the awarding of the MSOT degree. The second track includes coursework in health policy, advocacy, and leadership, and requires a program development project.  It will result in the awarding of the MOT degree.

The PPMSOT track is a year-long program for occupational therapists who have a bachelor's degree, but would like to complete their MSOT.

The three-year master of physical therapy degree program results in an DPT degree. For more information, please see the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy links at the right.

3. Is there housing available to graduate students?

Housing is not available to graduate students on campus. There are, however, many off-campus housing opportunities, reasonably priced, and within walking distance of campus. Students can watch the "Connections" postings in Wheelock Student Center, check the classifieds in The News Tribune, or talk to classmates for other off-campus housing possibilities in the vicinity.
