Kim is a native Californian. She grew up in Los Angeles, and also lived in Fresno and Sacramento. She came to the University of Puget Sound in 1995 to develop the Access To College Initiative, a school/college partnership with Tacoma Public Schools and the University of Puget Sound. She has a background working with school districts and universities in California, Washington, and New York building programs to support traditionally underrepresented students in their pursuit of post-secondary education. Kim enjoys being active in the community, listening to music, reading, working out at the gym, and daily chocolate.
