Sally is "returning to her roots" at Puget Sound. Her father chaired the Chemistry Department, her mother was head of Student Health Services, and a collection of aunts, uncles, and cousins all count Puget Sound as their alma mater. Exploration of Europe, Asia, and South America and living abroad inspires Sally's work with international students and U.S. citizens educated abroad. Teaching English while living in Mexico provided the opportunity to experience the challenges of international education while juggling life and work in another culture.
The Pacific Northwest is the ideal playground for mountain climbing, cycling, and long backpacking adventures which balance the time Sally spends in her garden and restoring a 100-year-old home in North Tacoma. Two daughters and two grandsons living in France and San Francisco provide additional incentive for travel and exploring the world.
