California (Southern), Nevada, and Washington's Pierce County E-mail Mike was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, but his passion for the outdoors led him to the Pacific Northwest to attend the University of Puget Sound. As a student, he played on the soccer team and co-founded an environmental education club on campus, where he met his wife, Hannah. He spent three years working as an Admission Counselor at Chapman University while Hannah completed her Ph.D. at UC Irvine. They are now back in Tacoma and live just a few blocks from campus in the historic North End neighborhood. In his spare time, Mike enjoys cooking, eating, and long-distance running and is a national level USSF and collegiate soccer referee. |
