Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Carolyn came to Puget Sound as a student in 1995. During college, Carolyn sang in the Adelphian Concert Choir, was active in Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, participated in Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, and studied abroad in Watford, England. After graduating and holding jobs in marketing, public relations, and academic support, Carolyn is happy to be back at her alma mater. When she's not at work, Carolyn enjoys singing in a local community choir, gardening, running, hiking and backpacking, and traveling. Her most recent adventure took her to South Africa and Swaziland (ask her about it!). She is pretty certain she wouldn't survive without coffee and chocolate (aren't they two of the four basic food groups?), loves eating out at Indian and Thai restaurants, particularly those within walking distance of campus and her apartment, and somewhat grudgingly admits that she's an avid watcher of Gilmore Girls reruns and The Amazing Race.

Mount Rainier, visible from campus, is just a two-hour drive east.
