Puget Sound's campus is Kyle's second home - he grew up taking lessons through the Community Music Department before moving to Harrington Hall his freshman year. As a Music major, Kyle studied organ and voice; he was active in the Adelphian Concert Choir, the Madrigal Singers (now Voci d'Amici), and Opera Theater; and he presented three music programs as independent projects. Kyle added Communication as a second major, exploring an interest in media studies. Besides academics and performing, some of his favorite memories include student leadership with Prelude, Passages, and Perspectives and living in the Music House.

After graduate school, Kyle worked in public relations and marketing communication before moving to Boston, where his musical exploits ran the gamut from Baroque organ to A Chorus Line. Also a published composer, his music is featured in a holiday program that was broadcast annually on PBS television.

Puget Sound is one of only five independent colleges in the Northwest granted a charter by Phi Beta Kappa.
