Inviting an International VisitorIf you are interested in bringing an international visitor to Puget Sound, please read through the following information carefully.
At a minimum, anytime you would like to invite an international visitor, you should provide name, title, contact information for the international visitor, as well as the dates and purpose of the visit to Sally Sprenger (253.879.2871) in International Programs (Howarth 215)
All documents verifying visa status and financial compensation must be submitted to Sally Sprenger for review prior to processing for payment by Accounting and Budget Services. Please consult the checklist for required documents.
In order to make your international guest's visit successful, please allow enough time for your guest to meet U.S. immigration requirements.
Once an international scholar obtains a visa that allows payment of honoraria or salary at Puget Sound, the scholar will need to file tax paperwork with the university upon arriving on campus. It is important to note that federal regulations must be followed so that the university does not put at risk the ability to host international visitors, faculty, and students. |
